WHERE: 266 Main Street, Suite 33A * Medfield MA 02052
WHO: High school seniors commencing college in Fall 2019 or current students who struggle
WORKSHOP LEAD: Melissa Vogt, LICSW
WHY: This workshop will prepare teens emotionally for the transition to college through experiential learning. Clinical studies as well as anecdotal evidence show students are struggling now more than ever to successfully transition from high school to college. Academic pressure, a rapidly changing social environment, and low confidence in their ability to manage challenges independently makes the move to the college world feel overwhelming, isolating, and anxiety provoking for many adolescents and young adults.
Our unique workshop provides individuals entering or already in college with concrete and proven skills to manage anxiety, academic expectations and how to effectively access resources in a new community while simultaneously navigating a new social & peer environment.
We meet for 4 weeks, the first 3 being 1 hour each and the final workshop being 1.5 hours to allow time to practice new skills learned together.
